Saponificio Varesino

History of Saponificio Varesino

Saponificio Varesino was founded in 1945 by Dante Bardelli. This (then) small soap maker was founded just after the Second World War. Bardelli had to somehow support his family financially after the war. His intuition told him that artisanally produced traditional soaps and shaving soaps would be a possible source of income, as they were in high demand in Italy. Together with his wife Ines, he started the company Saponificio Varesino. They used soap from Varese, which is located on the shore of Lake Maggiore. All the money Bartelli made from his small business was put back into the business. Bardelli went door to door in the province on his motorcycle, with a sidecar full of soap. Soon Saponificio Varesino expanded beyond the borders of the Italian province. Today, more than 70 years later, soap, shaving soap and other products are still produced in the same authentic way.

Artisanal Italian products

The Saponificio Varesino house works as much as possible with only natural ingredients. The brand works according to the Marseille method, which not only stands for quality, but also for a fair product. Only vegetable oils are used during the (minimum) 10-day production process. Fragrances, preservatives, animal fats, parabens and other additives are therefore out of the question. This makes Saponificio Varesino suitable for all skin types.

The small-scale, adventurous way in which Saponificio Varesino was founded, soon made way for a full-fledged, high-quality company. The key to the success of the Italian house still lies in tradition. The production technique has been modernized, but still according to the high standard of the Marseille method. This ensures that the soaps are extra concentrated so that they last longer and produce a very rich foam.

Saponificio is built on a strong foundation of adventure, enterprise, years of experience and an incredibly deep rooted ingredient and product knowledge.
