The hair and care brand BYRD originated from a fascination for the "gentleman surfer". The brand was inspired by the surf culture in California, USA, in the 1950s and 1960s. Sun, salt and surf were the main ingredients of this culture, and are therefore also the main ingredients of BYRD products. Fortunately, that is also the perfect combination for a healthy haircut and healthy skin. BYRD works according to 3 core values:

The origins of BYRD

BYRD was founded in 2012 when professional surfer Chase Wilson wanted to look good while surfing. Motivated by his great-grandfather who owned a barber shop, Chase began creating his first pomade.

The original BYRD pomade formula was not designed in a lab or tested in a factory, but was simply inspired by the lifestyle of the man with the classic surf culture in mind. The first pomade was therefore made just a stone's throw from the beach, but that does not alter the fact that BYRD products today provide a beautiful haircut. A real 50's/60's BYRD slick pomade can certainly be created with their products.

All BYRD products are conceived in “the Byrds nest” Newport Beach, California. This is where the creators eat, sleep, live and find inspiration for new products. The life of sun, sea, surf does not stand in the way, but rather paves a path for freedom and you can feel this in their products.
