After shave for sensitive skin
Of course we all know about aftershaves. Aftershaves are intended to soothe, disinfect and soften your skin after shaving. Aftershave closes your pores and prevents ingrown hairs after shaving. Very nice of course, but sensitive skin sometimes needs a different approach.
Why an aftershave for sensitive skin?
Aftershave is a fine remedy with many good properties. Sensitive skin sometimes reacts differently and therefore sometimes needs a milder approach. Do you know the feeling that your skin feels chapped, dry and tight after shaving? Then you probably use an aftershave that does not suit your skin type. In worse cases, your skin turns red and you feel like you're on fire. You don't have to call the fire brigade, as long as you get your old aftershave out the door. Time for a new, suitable aftershave for your skin!
Benefits of an aftershave for sensitive skin
We have listed the advantages for you. If you do not experience these benefits in this way with your current aftershave, we recommend that you purchase another aftershave.
- Calms, softens and disinfects your skin
- Prevents ingrown hairs
- Close your pores right after shaving
- Repairs small tears from shaving
- Helps your skin to maintain its moisture level
Many men also take aftershaves because they want to smell nice. But with sensitive skin you have to be careful with alcohol. A lot of alcohol, as is in many scented aftershaves, is not pleasant for sensitive skin. Just spray on a nice perfume before you go out the door. Don't you need that smell of your aftershave!
What to look for in an aftershave for sensitive skin?
There are several ingredients to look out for when looking for the perfect aftershave for sensitive skin.
Choose an aftershave without alcohol
As we just mentioned: alcohol is no friend for your sensitive skin. It can cause redness and irritation. It is therefore preferable to avoid alcohol in your aftershave.
Choose natural aftershaves
Natural aftershaves are often packed with ingredients that mother earth has made. All with their own positive effect. Natural ingredients are always highly recommended for sensitive skin, whether it's aftershaves or day creams.
Choose an aftershave without parabens and sulfates
These chemical goods are pretty tough go-getters and will sometimes clean just a little too much than you like. Not recommended for sensitive skin.
Choose an aftershave that is hypoallergenic and perfume-free
A hypoallergenic aftershave often has a formula that is as mild as possible, which reduces the risk of allergic reactions. Usually these types of aftershaves do not contain synthetic perfume and/or are fragrance-free. Alum is a very suitable product in this case, but a good hypoallergenic aftershave balm can also be found in our range.
